    Overview

    Twilio is seeking a Director of Revenue & CoGS Accounting to lead global revenue accounting operations and establish a robust revenue recognition framework. This role is integral in ensuring financial reporting aligns with Twilio’s innovative product strategies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the global Revenue, AR, and CoGS accounting functions, overseeing subledger operations and journal entries.
    • Integrate technical accounting policies into global workflows to ensure accuracy in financial outcomes.
    • Define the operational vision for ERP workflows and revenue automation, identifying and advocating for process improvements.
    • Deliver variance analysis to explain financial performance fluctuations.
    • Collaborate with Billing, GTM, Product & Pricing, and FP&A leaders for operational feasibility and compliance.
    • Address complex accounting issues, applying guidance and internal policies effectively.
    • Work with Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting teams for accurate disclosures and audits.
    • Oversee the global control framework, enhancing SOX compliance and internal audit strategies.
    • Promote continuous learning and growth within the team, elevating them to strategic collaborators.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
    • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 6+ years focusing on revenue accounting in a large public company.
    • 8+ years of experience leading and developing management-level teams.
    • Expert knowledge of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue models.
    • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and revenue subledgers (e.g., Zuora Revenue).
    • Strong ability to influence C-suite and VP stakeholders.
    • Deep understanding of SOX compliance in high-volume data environments.
