Key Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for major application networking initiatives, overseeing designs from proposal through to general availability.
• Lead the development of Ingress, private connectivity, DNS, and security controls on a large scale for Elastic Cloud.
• Manage multi-quarter, cross-organizational projects that rely on Elastic engineering teams.
• Raise the operational quality of services and lead incident investigations.
• Mentor engineers and advise on technical trade-offs and roadmap direction.
• Champion improvements to security, stability, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Experience with building software for complex distributed systems running production at scale.
• Deep expertise in application networking and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems design and operation.
• Proven ability to guide projects involving multiple engineers.
• Experience with high-availability SaaS platforms and incident response.
• Track record of using AI to improve development processes.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence direction across teams.
