Overview

Yugabyte is the company behind YugabyteDB, a multi-modal, distributed PostgreSQL database for cloud-native apps. The company is seeking a Senior Principal Solutions Engineer to join its global sales team, acting as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to qualify opportunities and understand customer requirements.
• Conduct tailored product demos, architecture deep-dives, and hands-on workshops for prospective customers.
• Lead proof-of-concept (POC) engagements with customer engineers to design and validate YugabyteDB deployments.
• Serve as a technical advisor on distributed databases and cloud-native architectures.
• Create and maintain technical collateral to support the sales process.
• Provide customer feedback to product, engineering, and support teams.
• Represent Yugabyte at industry events and technical meetups.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role in enterprise software or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of databases (SQL, NoSQL) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with distributed systems, data replication, and high-availability architectures.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Hands-on experience with YugabyteDB or similar distributed SQL technologies.
• Familiarity with modern application stacks (Spring Boot, Node.js, Golang, GraphQL).
• Experience in selling or supporting open-source software.

Benefits

The cash compensation for this role ranges from $200,000 to $250,000, with possible equity and benefits including health plans, retirement plans, and unlimited paid time off (PTO).
