Overview

The role of Software Engineer II (Java) at Jamf involves building and maintaining Java microservices as part of team Red, focusing on compliance benchmarks for Apple devices in regulated industries. The position supports a hybrid work model in the Czech Republic.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and evolve backend microservices (Java, Spring Boot, Pulsar, MongoDB) running on Kubernetes in AWS.
• Work on the pipeline that turns published security baselines into compliance reports.
• Break down customer problems into actionable tasks for the team.
• Independently complete identified tasks with high quality.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools in daily workflow.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to others in the organization.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in building enterprise-grade software with strong testing and QA practices.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with backend microservices in a cloud environment (AWS/Kubernetes is a plus).
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and document databases (Pulsar or MongoDB is a plus).
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants or a willingness to start using them.
• Experience working in agile teams with modern SDLC practices.
• Fluency in Czech or Slovak.
• A collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.

Location

This is a hybrid role based in Brno, Czech Republic. Only candidates based in the Czech Republic or with sponsorship to live and work in the Czech Republic will be considered.
