    Overview

    Brex is looking for a Staff Brand Designer to join its Design team. This role involves driving the evolution of Brex's brand identity system, collaborating with various teams to ensure a cohesive and distinctive brand presence.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own and evolve Brex’s brand identity system, including visual language, typography, color, illustration, and brand patterns.
    • Define and maintain brand standards that balance consistency with creative flexibility across teams and channels.
    • Translate company strategy and brand vision into clear, compelling visual direction in partnership with leadership.
    • Design and deliver new brand expressions that advance the identity while preserving recognition and equity.
    • Lead high-impact brand work beyond the core system, including special campaigns, sub-brands, and select product or service launches.
    • Art direct and contribute to brand campaigns, collaborating with external partners and internal teams to ensure exceptional craft.
    • Provide guidance and feedback across the organization to raise the quality and effectiveness of brand execution.

    Requirements

    • 7+ years of experience in brand design or art direction, focused on identity systems and brand evolution.
    • A portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, system design, and high-quality execution across identities and campaigns.
    • Deep expertise in typography, color, composition, and building scalable visual systems.
    • Strong ability to articulate design decisions and build alignment with cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders.
    • Experience working across multiple workstreams in fast-paced, evolving environments.
    • Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with comfort prototyping and iterating quickly.
    • Practical experience using AI tools in the creative process with sound judgment on when and how to apply them.

    Benefits

    Compensation ranges from $187,000 - $234,000, depending on factors such as the candidate’s location, skills, and experience. Equity and other forms of compensation may also be offered.

    Location

    This role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, based in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York, with up to four weeks of fully remote work each year.
