Staff Software Engineer, Assets @Webflow

Overview

Webflow is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Assets to solve challenging problems and address emerging customer needs. This role focuses on high-quality software development while providing opportunities for impactful product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and evolve backend systems, platform services, and APIs using Python and related technologies.
• Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to integrate AI/ML capabilities into backend infrastructure.
• Design and scale distributed systems to handle large volumes of data efficiently.
• Create secure and resilient data storage and retrieval systems focused on integrity, privacy, and governance.
• Lead complex technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.
• Stay current with industry trends and suggest improvements to the backend platform and development workflows.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with expertise in backend engineering and distributed systems.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with scalable distributed systems, data integrity, and privacy.
• Strong skills in API design and service-oriented architecture.
• Ability to lead implementations and participate in technical mentorship.
• Experience in supporting team growth through mentorship.
• Proactive in adopting and applying emerging technologies.
